As Tunisia undergoes economic and democratic transition, the Programme d’Appui aux Médias en Tunisie (PAMT 2) plays a key role. Funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium of international experts, this project aims to strengthen the capacities of media professionals and institutional actors to ensure more transparent and participatory information. One of its innovations? A customized e-learning platform developed by our startup, Lectful, to train stakeholders on socio-economic issues, gender, and communication.
Context and Objectives of PAMT 2
Spanning five years (2021-2026), PAMT 2 follows the initial MEDIA UP/PAMT1 program. Its primary goal is to provide Tunisian citizens with reliable and relevant information on economic and social issues, enabling them to participate actively in democratic life.
Implemented by a prestigious consortium led by CFI and including organizations such as Article 19, Deutsche Welle Akademie, and Thomson MEDIA, the program targets several key actors:
Journalists from public and private media outlets. Government communicators. Media support organizations. Public and institutional authorities.
Our startup had the honor of contributing to this project by developing a tailor-made online training platform. This innovative digital solution meets the specific needs of the program’s beneficiaries through various training modules in fields such as economics, communication, and gender, among others.
Benefits of the E-Learning Solution
Our platform offers several strategic advantages:
Accessibility: Available 24/7, allowing professionals to train at their own pace.
Interactivity: Enriched multimedia content (videos, quizzes, case studies) for an engaging learning experience.
Personalized tracking: An analytical dashboard to assess learner progress.
Collaboration: Dedicated spaces for exchanges and networking among industry professionals.
Impact and Results
The implementation of this digital solution has enabled:
Standardization of basic economic knowledge among journalists. Better understanding of gender-related issues in newsrooms. Strengthening the capacities of public communicators. Creation of a learning community connecting media and institutions.
Conclusion
PAMT 2 represents a crucial step in modernizing Tunisia’s media landscape. Our contribution through this e-learning platform aligns with this dynamic of capacity-building and pedagogical innovation. As Tunisia continues its democratic transition, such digital tools become essential for training a new generation of media and public communication professionals.
For professionals interested in these training programs, additional information is available at (https://academie.pamt2.org). We will continue to closely monitor the impact of this program on the quality of information and public debate in Tunisia.
