Not every academy calls things a "course," a "section," and a "lecture." Lectful lets you speak your learners' language — rename those content types once, and hide the parts of a course page you don't need. Here's how.
Rename courses, sections & lectures
Open Settings and go to Terminology. At the top, the Content naming system card shows the terms currently in use for your Courses, Sections, and Lectures.
Below that, under Localized terminology, choose a language, then edit the singular and plural for each type:
- Course / Courses
- Section / Sections
- Lecture / Lectures
Click Save changes and the new wording appears everywhere across your academy — in the admin dashboard and on the storefront your learners see. Prefer the built-in names? Reset to defaults brings them back.
Terminology is set per language. Each locale starts from sensible native defaults (for example, Cours in French or Kurs in German), so you only rename the terms that need to be different. Switch languages with the selector and save once — your changes apply globally.
Hide elements on the learner's course page
You don't have to show everything on every course. Open a course, go to the Settings tab, and find the Course Display group. Each toggle saves the moment you switch it:
- Hide Course Curriculum — hides the curriculum outline (the "Course content" panel) from people who haven't enrolled yet, so the full lesson list stays private until they join.
- Show instructor — turn this off to remove the instructor block from the course page.
- Show Notes — turn this off to hide the personal notes panel that learners can use while studying.
Because these live on the course itself, you can make different choices for different courses.
More display controls are on the way — including options to hide the progress bar and the "mark as complete" action, along with more neutral learner-page wording. This guide will be updated as those ship; for now the toggles above are what's live.
