Some pages in your academy you build by hand; others Lectful builds and keeps up to date for you. This guide explains the difference, and clears up what the course content toggles actually do.
Automatic (system) pages
A few pages are generated and maintained by Lectful — you'll see them marked as automatic. Your course detail pages, the course player, learning path detail, and the live event detail page all work this way.
You don't create these one at a time. Each is rendered from a shared template, and the individual pages update automatically whenever you add or edit the underlying course, learning path, or live event. Publish a new course and its detail page simply exists — no page-building required.
To change how they look, open Settings → Navigation → Page Templates. You'll find a template for each type:
- Course Detail — the layout for individual course pages
- Course Player — the learning/player page
- Learning Path Detail — the layout for learning path pages
- Live Event Detail — the layout for live event pages
Edit a template once and every matching page updates, so your academy stays consistent everywhere.
How manually-created pages differ
Pages you make yourself — an About page, a landing page, a sales page — are created with New Page. Each has its own content that you write and arrange, and its own Published or Draft status. Unlike automatic pages, they don't change on their own; they show exactly what you put on them until you edit them. You can read more in Customize your storefront: header, footer & pages.
Course content & upload settings
When you build a course, its Settings tab has a handful of toggles that change how the course behaves. Here's what each one does:
- Auto Approve Students — enrollments are approved automatically, so learners get instant access. Turn it off to review and approve each enrollment yourself.
- Manually Complete The Course — completion is granted by an instructor rather than automatically once a learner finishes the content. Useful when finishing requires something you verify off-platform.
- Lock Course — makes the course inaccessible. Handy while you're still editing, or to temporarily close a course.
- Hide Course Curriculum — hides the curriculum outline from visitors who aren't enrolled, so the full lesson list stays private until they join.
Each toggle saves as soon as you switch it, and applies only to that course — so you can mix and match per course.
Not sure which to touch? Sensible defaults mean most courses need no changes at all. Reach for these settings only when you want to approve students manually, gate access, or keep your curriculum under wraps.
